Sevastopol School will present Matilda the Musical on Feb. 28 and 29 at 7:30 pm; and March 1 at 2 pm in the Sevastopol School Gym.

Matilda the Musical – with book by Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin – is based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name. The story follows Matilda, an extraordinary girl who, “armed with a sharp mind and vivid imagination, dares to take a stand and change her destiny.” When her parents send her to school at Crunchem Hall, she meets Miss Trunchbull, the tyrannical headmistress; and faces great adversity. With the help of her friends and her kind-hearted teacher, Miss Honey, this miraculous girl takes action, inspires a revolution and proves that “everyone has the power to change their story.”

The cast includes middle and high school students: Lucas Aspey, Sienna Cain, Bea Dramm, Owen Ensign-Foulds, Ethan Frank, Elizebeth Fiscus, Alexis Garrett, Kapri Gill, Caitlyn Hasenjager, Abbi Hayes, Lexie Henkel, Rachel Hietpas, Molly Jefferson, Ellie Krohn, Ophelia Linnan, Finn Mathews, Liliahna Snyder, Lilly Turner and Izzy Wadkins. Amy Ensign directs the show, with music direction by Kim Souther and choreography by Anna Mae Beyer.
