Matthew James Smith Wins International Photography Award

This year, the International Photography Awards received 17,036 submissions from more than 162 countries, and is pleased to declare that Matthew James Smith was awarded second place in the Professional Nature – Sunset category for winning entry “Gásadalur” and also Honorable Mention in Professional Architecture – Historic category for “Pariah.”

The International Photography Awards conducts an annual competition for professional, non-professional, and student photographers on a global scale, creating one of the most ambitious and comprehensive competitions in the photography world today. A board of esteemed professionals in the field juries the competition: curators, photo editors, gallery owners, art directors, and other luminaries from the international photography community. The awards include a Lucie Statue and cash prizes totaling more than $20,000 at the annual Lucie Awards at Carnegie Hall in NYC, also exhibition and publication opportunities.
