MDCMC Hosts ImPACT Workshop

On July 13, Ministry Door County Medical Center held an ImPACT Workshop at Stone Harbor Resort & Conference Center.

The Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT) workshop was presented to athletic trainers, physicians, nurses and MDCMC staff to learn and recognize concussion symptoms.

“Mismanaging a concussion can be catastrophic,” said Tina Koyen, ATC, an athletic trainer at MDCMC. “It’s important to have health care practitioners in the schools that have the proper training and ability to interpret the ImPACT program.”

Door County Ministry Medical Center supports and funds the ImPACT program for Gibraltar, Sevastopol, Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay high schools.
