The September exhibit at Meadows Art Gallery features Dorothy McDowell, Madonna Siles and Rich Lynch. The public is invited to the opening reception to meet the artists on Sept. 8, 3 – 5 pm.
McDowell is an avid plein air painter who records the color and textures of the old farm buildings and the fishing industry and boats of Door County. She also is interested in landscape, and makes use of the layering and range of color in acrylic paint for all of her images.
Siles is also a plein air artist that pushes the texture and color of pastel in her landscape images. Siles creates artwork with emotional and physical impact.
In his sculptures, Lynch captures the essence and importance of the form and texture of his subjects and pulls the viewer into the work.
The Meadows Art Gallery is located in the Scandia Village facility on the top of the hill going into Sister Bay.
