Meads Retire After 30 Years

Mike and Mary Mead, owners of the Shoreline in Gills Rock, are retiring after a nearly 30-year run. The Meads took over the restaurant in 1990 and have worked together – along with help from their four daughters – ever since. Chef Mike has run the kitchen; Mary has handled the dining area and front-of-house operations and is known for her homemade pies.

The Meads said, “It’s time for a new owner to be the caretaker of this very special restaurant.” They plan to travel and spend more time with their children and grandchildren.
