Meet Local Authors at Write On June 4

The Door County Published Authors Collective will hold its first meet-and-greet June 4, 10 am – 12 pm, at Write On, Door County (writeondoorcounty.org), 4210 Juddville Road in Juddville. The event will feature children’s authors, novelists, memoirists and nonfiction writers.

The authors will read short excerpts from their books and talk about their paths to publication. Books will be available for sale, and the authors will be happy to sign them. Light refreshments will also be served. 

Featured authors include Ann Heyse, author of a poetry collection and the picture books Good Morning, Door County and Good Night, Door County; Marggie Moertl, author of Sally – A Memoir and a book about her years as a hospice nurse; Dan Powers, author of How Long a Shadow; Judy Ann Ritter, author of Following My Path: Striving for Justice and Social Change about her sister-in-law’s life before and after her ALS diagnosis; Charles Schudson, whose books about judges and the law include Independence Corrupted: How American Judges Make Their Decisions; Jane Wrede, author of Outspoken: The Olly Neal Story; and Judy DuCharme, author of the Laney of the Door Island series and other fiction works.

The Door County Published Authors Collective – formed in 2021 – is a group of writers with significant ties to Door County who have published books both through self-publishing and traditional publishing houses. The group meets monthly through Write On to network and offer support.
