Meet the Door County Sled Dogs

Alpha male BooBoo sports a cheesehead. On top of being a sled team leader, BooBoo is a therapy dog.

Rolling up to Koepsel’s Farm Market north of Baileys Harbor on Highway 57 on Saturday mornings, visitors are first greeted by the Door County Sled Dogs and their genial “owners,” Richard Desotelle, Bonnie Ulrich and other volunteers in their not-for-profit sled dog rescue organization.

Richard, Bonnie and the volunteers love to talk about the dogs and share tips on pet care, obedience and dog-powered sports.

The dogs, all of them rescued, love the attention and are happy to meet new people.

Catch the dogs again at Koepsel’s on Saturday, July 12, from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Learn more about the dogs and the organization at or visit the Door County Sled Dogs Facebook page.
