Meet the Watercolorists at Cottage Row Gallery

Watercolorists Bridget Austin and Jack Anderson will be featured at Cottage Row Gallery July 14-28. The combined show opens with a “meet the artists” reception on July 14, 10 am – 1 pm. Light refreshments will be served. The shows combines a selection of new watercolors by each artist, with an assortment of limited edition prints and notecards available.

Austin has been painting her impressions of nature in watercolor for more than 35 years. Her fresh style, use of white paper, negative painting and lively color have made her paintings a popular addition to many public and private collections. She has taught watercolor workshops throughout the country and in Door County at The Clearing in Ellison Bay and Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek.

Anderson has been using watercolor as his medium of choice since the mid-1960s. After teaching for 18 years in the Crystal Lake, Ill. area, he moved to Door County and opened the Jack Anderson Gallery in Sister Bay. There he successfully exhibited and sold his work as well as that of many other artists for more than 30 years. Anderson’s watercolors have always focused on the unique look and beauty of Door County.
