Memior Writing Workshop at UUF

Myrna Leigh Cohn

Now is the time to begin to write all of those meaningful and cherished personal family stories, the ones you’ve been promising yourself to get down on paper for years.

Myrna Leigh Cohn presents an introduction to memoir writing, a free two-hour workshop on May 23. She bases her class on the popular Turning Memories into Memoirs program written by Denis Ledoux in 1988. Since then, he has influenced tens of thousands of people around the world to apply his method, detailed in his book (of the same title), to preserve their memories through the power of the written word. Cohn has applied his writing tips and techniques since then, and has coached individuals and corporate business leaders to do the same.

This introductory session begins at 1 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim. It focuses on the essential core methods of creating a writing plan, utilizing a “memory list,” and writing a brief life-story. No prior writing experience is required. Plan to bring a notebook and a favorite pen.

This workshop is free and open to the public; however, advance registration is required by May 19. To register, call 920.854.7559.
