Memories and Impressions

“Red Bud” by Tilton+Oeler.

Sister Bay artists Dave Tilton and Paula Oeler announce that two of their new collaborative works “Red Bud” and “Dedicated Followers of Fashion” have been selected for the Eighth Annual North of the 45th Juried Exhibition held June 5 – July 26 at the DeVos Art Museum in Marquette, Michigan. Lena Vigna, a curator at the Racine Art Museum, juried the exhibit. These two pieces are part of a series that explores the essence of trees and plumb the emotive power of color, form and texture.

Influenced by the ever-changing nature of Door County, Tilton and Oeler’s landscapes focus on memories and impressions and offer views on a world filled with suggestion, mood and sumptuous beauty. By combining Oeler’s focus on shape, implied movement, and contrast with Tilton’s ambient-inspired compositional synthesis, they produce works that meld representational forms with an abstract painterly aesthetic.

Works by Tilton and Oeler can be seen locally at Edgewood Orchard Galleries at 4140 Peninsula Players Road in Fish Creek. Join them at Edgewood for the opening of their exhibition on June 13, 4 – 7 pm. For more information visit CartaStudioWorks.com or EdgewoodOrchard.com.
