Merry-Time Festival of Trees Opens Nov. 12

Celebrate the holidays by enjoying dozens of beautiful trees and festive displays Nov. 12 – Jan. 2 at the Door County Maritime Museum (DCMM). Decorated by residents and those affiliated with local businesses and organizations, each tree is adorned with ornaments and special surprises, and every display will go home with a lucky winner from the Merry-Time Festival of Trees raffle.

Festivities will start with Santa arriving on a Coast Guard boat Nov. 12, 10 am. Kids of all ages are invited to participate in holiday activities and explore the museum, and authors Pamela Cameron and Judy DuCharme will be signing their books in the museum’s store. Then at 4 pm, DCMM will light up the 103-year-old tugboat John Purves.

All kids 17 and younger who are accompanied by an adult will receive free admission to Saturday’s events and to the museum on Sundays during the festival.

The annual Jingle Mixer will be held Dec. 13, 6 pm, in the new Captain’s Quarters event space at the museum. Revelers can enjoy food, drinks, auctions, entertainment and the drawings for the tree winners. Space is limited, so purchase your ticket early (and learn more) at dcmm.org/event/merry-time-festival-trees.
