Merry-Time Festival of Trees

Soon the Door County Maritime Museum will sparkle again with the return of the Merry-Time Festival of Trees. During the festival, uniquely decorated trees and wreaths, donated by businesses and individuals in the community, can be found throughout the museum’s galleries. The festival begins Nov. 10 and includes several special events during the month-long extravaganza.

The festival kicks off Nov. 10, 9:30 am, with a holiday-themed printmaking workshop taught by Green Bay artist Gena Selby. Class participants will design and carve their own linocut holiday tree to create greeting cards. The workshop is $45, and registration is required by visiting eventbrite.com, and searching “Celebrate with Trees.”

On Dec. 1, children of all ages will delight in visiting Santa aboard the historic tugboat John Purves on Kids Day from 10 am to 1 pm. Enjoy activities, crafts and a museum scavenger hunt at the museum starting at 9 am.

The festival culminates on with the popular “Jingle, Jingle, Mix and Mingle” gala on Dec. 11, 5:30–8:30 pm. This event includes a raffle where guests can win the trees decorated by local businesses and organizations. Guests will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments along with a live and silent auction and the tree raffle drawing.
