Midsummer’s Music, Birch Creek Partner for Food-Pantry Benefit Concert

Midsummer’s Music and Birch Creek Music Performance Center are collaborating with United Way of Door County to present a free concert benefiting the Door County Food Pantry Coalition as part of the nationwide Music for Food program. The concert will be held May 14, 2 pm, in Birch Creek’s Juniper Hall, 3821 Cty E in Egg Harbor.

Now in its 13th season, Music for Food is a musician-led initiative in which musicians choose a local food pantry to support through a performance, and audience members’ donations benefit the pantry.

The free concert will feature the two organizations’ executive directors – Mona Christensen, flute, and Allyson Fleck, viola – playing Franz Anton Hoffmeister’s Duo for Flute and Viola, plus selections from other classical and not-so-classical favorites.

Attendees may contribute nonperishable food items or monetary donations to the Door County Food Pantry Coalition at the door. Visit midsummersmusic.com to find out more and reserve free tickets
