Midsummer’s Music Celebrates 32 Years

Midsummer’s Music is celebrating its 32nd season of presenting chamber-music concerts hailed as “exciting, pulse-pounding and riveting” in cultural, historical and scenic locations throughout the county. The 2022 season, running June 9 – Sept. 5, will include more than 40 concerts performed by world-class musicians.

The 32nd season will comprise music by Schubert, Mozart, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Franck and Dvořák, plus a continuing tradition of championing the works of female and lesser-known composers.

Highlights will include opening night on June 9 with Wisconsin Public Radio’s Norman Gilliland, two salon concerts at Sister Bay residences, four concerts with the Griffon String Quartet, a dinner at Alexander’s following the June 21 concert, and the annual Labor Day Gala at Björklunden.

Will Healy, Midsummer’s 2021 New York City-based composer-in-residence will return and perform in the world premiere of his commissioned trio for clarinet, viola and piano.

Midsummer’s Music continues its partnerships with local arts organizations such as Woodwalk Gallery and Write On, Door County to orchestrate collaborations with area artists and poets who create original pieces based on musical inspiration.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for students and free children 12 and younger. Premium prices apply for salon/home concerts, dinner concerts and other special events. Flex-packs of six tickets for the price of five are also available.
