Midsummer’s Music Celebrates Czech Composers

Midsummer’s Music will next present six concerts celebrating the works of Czech composers Vítězslav Novák, František Škroup and Antonín Dvořák. Midsummer’s Music artists David Perry, violin; Walter Preucil, cello; and Alyona A. Waldo, piano, will perform the works.
Czech and Triple Czech will be presented at Björklunden on July 13, 7:30 pm; St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on July 18, 7 pm; the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship on July 19, 7 pm; Hope United Church of Christ on July 20, 7 pm; the Kress Pavilion on July 21, 3 pm; and in a salon concert on July 25, 7 pm.
The Prescient Youth series will also continue through July 17, offering pieces by Felix Mendelssohn, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Jacob Beranek.
