Midsummer’s Music Continues Streamed Concerts

Midsummer’s Music will feature three contemporary composers during its third streaming concert program, New Voices, Aug. 19-23.

Midsummer’s Music will premiere a new piano trio, “Midsummer,” by composer-in-residence Jacob Beranek, and it will feature work by contemporary Canadian composer Erling Patrick Horn as well as music by Reynaldo Hahn, who emigrated as a child from his native Venezuela to France.

The five free concerts will stream at midsummersmusic.com and on the Midsummer’s Music Facebook page and YouTube channel. The New Voices program will be delivered in two segments: Aug. 19 and 20, 7 pm; and Aug. 21 and 22, 8 pm. On Aug. 23, 3 pm, see the Beranek, Horn and Hahn pieces played in a matinee performance that will include live interviews

Midsummer’s Music musicians for these performances will be David Perry and Ann Palen (violin), Allyson Fleck (viola), Greg Sauer (cello) and Jennie Yu (piano).

See the e-program book for the mini season at midsummersmusic.com.
