Midsummer’s Music Festival Announces 25th Season

Each summer a group of world-class musicians from organizations such as the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Chicago Philharmonic, Pro Arte Quartet and the Aspen Music Festival join together in Door County to form Wisconsin’s premier chamber music ensemble at the Midsummer’s Music Festival. The festival offers a series of more than 30 exquisite classical music concerts in a host of unique, intimate venues.

Midsummer’s Music Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. This anniversary season features 23 concerts that take place between June 12 and July 14, and also a Labor Day series that made up of ten concerts beginning August 28 and continuing through September 7.

Guests will enjoy a varied and colorful series of works for smaller ensembles. From the great masters such as Beethoven and Mozart, to some lesser-known but very accomplished composers, each concert offers an unforgettable musical experience.

One of the biggest highlights of the festival this year is the Big Top Door County event on July 12 at 2 pm at the Berkenfeld in Baileys Harbor. Big Top Door County will be held on the rolling hills of Berkenfeld, the multi-acre meadowland estate owned by Midsummer Music founders, Jim and Jean Berkenstock.

Tickets for most concerts are $30. Concerts that take place in private homes are $60. Dinner concerts range from $75-$85. For more information or to see a complete schedule, visit midsummersmusic.com or call 920.854.7088.
