Midsummer’s Music Festival Opens with “Fantasy and Magic”

Midsummer’s Music Festival is ready for the 22nd opening night event titled Fantasy and Magic. Opening night will be held at the Birch Creek Performing Arts Center in Egg Harbor at 7 pm on June 8.

The red carpet will be rolled out for special guests including Wisconsin Arts Board Chair and Lt. Governor (2003-11) Barbara Lawton, Door County poet Judy Roy and other Door County dignitaries. Guests will be greeted with complimentary champagne and chocolate to toast to the new season.

“We want our guests to be dazzled. We want to transport our patrons to a calmer place; a place where they can relax and just be [in the moment],” says new Director of Development and Marketing Jami Stutting.

This program includes a special appearance by The Preucil family. Zachary Preucil will perform Fanfare for a Summer Evening.

The line-up includes a violin solo by David Perry of Pro Arte Quartet, Robert Schumann’s Fairy Tales, Opus 132, Conradin Kreutzer’s Quintet in A Major, KWV 5113 and Joachim Raff’s Quintet in A Minor, Opus 107.

Tickets are available to opening night for $45. Fantasy and Magic will also be performed on June 9 at the Ephraim Moravian Church at 7:30 pm and on June 10 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Sister Bay at 7:30 pm.
