Midsummer’s Music Festival Presents Concerts July 8 – 23

Midsummer’s Music Festival presents the next three programs in its 2016 season: Flair and Passion; From Light to Serious; and Romantic Connections. In accordance with a Midsummer’s mission of educating audiences about the wide range of chamber music, the concerts feature works by such familiar composers as Beethoven and Shubert, as well as some lesser-known composers.

The two composers featured in the Flair and Passion program are Anton Reicha (the “flair”) and Franz Schubert (the “passion”). The program will be performed: July 8, 7 pm, Sturgeon Bay home; July 9, 3 pm, The Clearing Folk School; July 10, 7 pm, Woodwalk Gallery.

Composers Hugo Wolf, Franz Danzi, Franz Schubert and Beethoven are featured in the From Light to Serious program. The program will be performed: July 12, 7 pm, home concert in Baileys Harbor; July 16, 7 pm, Björklunden; July 17, 7 pm, Woodwalk Gallery; July 19, 7 pm, home concert in Sister Bay.

Midsummer’s Romantic Connection program focuses on quintets from two composers: Thomas Dunhill and Robert Schumann. This program will first be performed July 14, 6 pm, at East High School in Green Bay and serves as a fundraiser for the school’s fine arts programs. Concerts continue on July 15, 7 pm, at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship; July 20, 7 pm, Björklunden; and July 23, 3 pm, Prince of Peace Church.

Tickets for most performances are $29 for adults and $10 for students. Youth 12 and under are free. Home concerts are $60 for adults and $20 for students.
