Midsummer’s Music to Receive Donation from Eventual Sale of Manor

Mark Kunstman, executive director of Midsummer’s Music Festival, was recently notified by the heirs of the Frank Spitzer estate, otherwise known as The Ellison Bay Manor, of their intention to donate a portion of the proceeds of the eventual sale of Manor to the organization.

“We are extremely grateful to the heirs for their thoughtfulness in making this grant to us,” says Jim Berkenstock, president of Midsummer’s Music. “Leveraging this grant into a major initiative will be our next goal, especially with our 25th anniversary less than two years away.”

Other organizations named in the grant document include, the Door County Humane Society, the Medical College of Wisconsin, and a qualified charity of the buyer’s choosing.

Midsummer’s Music Festival recently performed a sold-out concert at The Ellison Bay Manor and will next pair with United Way of Door County in presenting “Grand Eloquence,” a Labor Day benefit concert on Sept. 2 at 3 pm.
