Midsummer’s Music’s Sultry Summer Concerts Begin Aug. 20

Dubbed the Sultry Summer Concert Series, Midsummer’s Music’s upcoming performances will run Aug. 20 – Sept. 6

The four new programs, presented in 13 performances, will feature Heather Zinninger Yarmel, flute; Julie Thayer and Fritz Foss, horn; David Perry and Eleanor Bartsch, violin; Allyson Fleck and Madlen Breckbill, viola; James Waldo and Cole Randolph, cello; and Jeannie Yu, piano.

Programs will spotlight music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Ferdinand Reis, Johannes Brahms, Richard Strauss, Arnold Schoenberg, John Harbison, Libby Larsen, Joachim Raff and Midsummer’s 2021 composer fellow Quinn Mason.

Performances include Aug. 20 and 26 concerts at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, a Sept. 2 salon concert and reception at a private residence, and a festive Sept. 6 benefit concert, auction and catered reception at Björklunden with special guest and host John Clare of SiriusXM. Mason will host a Coffee Talk Aug. 28, 10 am, at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor.
