Midwest Jazz Collective at TAP

Members of the Midwest Jazz Collective first began playing together at the highly regarded Birch Creek Music Performance Center in 2004. Although their roots are firmly rooted in the soil of the heartland, the talented quintet is always reaching toward new creative horizons. A special concert of the collective’s newest original compositions will take place on Saturday, August 8 at 7:30 pm at Third Avenue Playhouse.

Bryan Carter (drums), Adam Kromelow (piano), Adam Larson (sax), Gabe Medd (trumpet) and Sam Selinger (bass) boast impressive resumes, having played at distinguished jazz festivals including Monterey, Telluride, Detroit, Chicago, and Iowa City. Members have also held spots in recent Gibson/Grammy Jazz Ensembles, Monterey Jazz Festival Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, Brubeck Summer Jazz Colonist, Telluride All-Stars, NFAA Jazz Fellows, Downbeat Student Music Awards and Betty Carter Jazz Ahead.

Join the Collective for an evening of musical conversation – and you’ll agree that talent definitely grows in the Midwest.
