Mike Orthober Visits Historical Museum, June 29

Master taxidermist Mike Orthober will be at the Door County Historical Museum June 29, 10 am – 4 pm, to mount a bird for inclusion in the museum’s Seasons of Life nature diorama – which Orthober designed and built – and answer questions about the art and craft of taxidermy.

Orthober, of Egg Harbor, is well known in the taxidermy field and has earned many national and international awards, including Best in World for both warm-water fish and nongame birds. He was recently elected to the Taxidermy Hall of Fame.

Orthober will also visit the museum, at 4th and Michigan in Sturgeon Bay, on July 20 and Aug. 24. It’s open daily, 10 am – 4 pm.
