Miller Art Museum Announces Open Art Call

The Miller Art Museum is accepting submissions for its 47th Juried Annual, an exhibition highlighting contemporary work by Wisconsin visual artists.

The exhibition is open to artists older than 18 who live or work in Wisconsin, at all career levels, who work in a range of media, and who engage in artistic practices from traditional to abstract. Eligible artists can apply by registering and submitting work online via ArtCall (ArtCall.org) through millerartmuseum.org. They may enter up to two original works for a $30 non-refundable entry fee through Aug. 16 at 5 pm.

“By broadening the reach of eligibility, we’re inviting new visual artists to the northeast Wisconsin region specifically and encouraging diversity in the competition, while also bringing awareness statewide to the talent of the tremendous creative community that is Door County,” said Helen del Guidice, curator of exhibitions and collections.

Eight artists will be recognized with cash awards during the Sept. 17 opening reception: three Special Merit Awards at $250 each, three Juror’s Choice Awards at $200 each, the Gerhard Miller Award of Excellence at $500, and the Bonnie Hartmann Award for Outstanding Creativity at $100.

Submission information, including the prospectus and a link to the online submission portal, is available at millerartmuseum.org/juried-annual-submissions. Artists whose work is selected for inclusion in the exhibit will be notified by email on Aug. 24.
