Miller Art Museum Opens 37th Juried Annual Exhibition

Miller Art Museum’s 37th Juried Annual opens with artwork from 37 northeastern Wisconsin artists. 49 paintings, photographs, prints, and collage were selected to show a range of subjects and styles.

The opening reception takes place Sept. 15, 5 – 6:30 pm. The public is invited to attend, and seven cash prizes will be announced including Special Merit, the Gerhard Miller Award of Excellence and juror’s awards. The exhibit continues through Nov. 5.

The jury included Karsten Topelmann, Berel Lutsky and Mary Ulm Mayhew. A full day of discussion and analysis took place as decisions were made. Topelmann commented on the “creative talent and diverse visual approaches” evident in the artwork.

Featured artists include Heidi Atanasov, Rick Brawner and Donna Lindboe Trupin, of Fish Creek; Chris Aufdermauer, Julie Brogan, Dennis M. Connolly, Criss Davis, Boyd Fellows, Lynn Gilchrist, Tom Groenfeldt, Roxanne Hanney, Aaron Holland, Joy Sequoia, Archelle “Buttons” Wolst and Armando Zeledَn, of Sturgeon Bay; Calsey Cross and Elizabeth J. Heller, of Egg Harbor; Heather Harle Frykman, Jim Leatham and Dorothy McDowell, of Sister Bay; Marcia Nickols of Ephraim; and Arlene Stanger of Baileys Harbor.

Roberta Nauman and Bill & Betty Parsons sponsored this juried exhibition.

The Miller Art Museum is open Monday, 10 am – 8 pm, and Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm. The museum is free and open to the public.
