Miller Art Museum Receives CARES Act Funding Through Wisconsin Arts Board

The Miller Art Museum (millerartmuseum.org) in Sturgeon Bay is among 110 arts organizations in Wisconsin – and nine in Door County – that have received CARES Act funding through the Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB). In April, the WAB developed a grant program to fund salary support, fees for artists and/or contractual personnel, and/or facility costs such as rent and utilities.

“We are deeply appreciative of the WAB and Arts Midwest for their leadership and support in this capacity,” wrote Elizabeth Meissner-Gigstead, the museum’s executive director. “This grant will, in part, allow the museum, chiefly, to continue to preserve our cultural assets for the benefit of the public and the people of Door County, and share that through programming.”

The museum is planning a late-July phased reopening of the galleries.
