Moeller Announces Candidacy for Judge

On the heels of Judge D. Todd Ehlers’ announcement of his retirement in 2024 after 23 years of service in Door County Circuit Court, Branch 1, Jennifer Moeller said she’s thrilled to announce that she will run for the seat in the April 2024 election.

Moeller has served as Door County Family Court commissioner for the past 12 years.

“This role has given me invaluable experience on the bench making tough decisions that affect people’s lives,” she said in a statement announcing her run for office. “My legal experience, commitment to this community, and passion for justice drive me to run for judge.”

Prior to working for Door County, Moeller was a partner in the law firm of Brooks & Moeller. She has volunteered for numerous local nonprofit organizations for more than 20 years, including the Women’s Fund and Sunshine Resources. In 2019, she received the Anne Kok Social Justice Award for her commitment to eliminate violence in all forms.

Moeller also served on the Sturgeon Bay Common Council for two years and on the Sturgeon Bay Police and Fire Commission for nine years, seven years as its president.

The nonpartisan election for the six-year term will be held April 2, 2024. In April 2023, Judge David L. Weber was reelected to a six-year term in Branch 2.
