Monarch Tagging Workshop Offered at the Ridges Sanctuary

Learn more about the well-known monarch butterfly during a workshop on monarch tagging sponsored by the Ridges Sanctuary. The program, designed for all ages, will be held on Friday, August 29, from 9 – 11:30 am at the Ridges’ Marshall Cabin.

Participants will learn many details about the fascinating monarch butterflies, including the different stages of the monarch’s life cycle, how to rear them from egg to adult, their amazing migration from Wisconsin to Mexico, and their multi-generational return in the spring. If possible, some adult butterflies will be netted and tagged in order to track them on their migration routes.

The Marshall Cabin is located next to the Ridges Nature Center, 8288 Highway Q, Baileys Harbor. Cost for the program is $10 per person or $15 per family. Advance registration is requested. Call 920.839.2802.
