Monica Ramirez Brings Vitality to Art Alcoves

Monica Ramirez, the founder of Mona Lucy’s Art, is sharing her vitality and energy at the Hope United Church of Christ’s Art Alcoves. She works in multiple media, including oil, acrylic and watercolor. Her exhibit will be open Monday – Friday, 9 am –1 pm, with an opening reception planned for Sept. 29, 11:30 am – 3 pm.

Ramirez started with sketches and creative activities when she was a girl. As a young adult, her creativity blossomed through an activities position in a nursing home, and she pursued a career in health care. During her last position as a director of operations for a hospice organization, her artistic passion returned through creative work with patients who were dying. Inspired, she studied art therapy at Northwestern University and became a certified art therapist. She moved to Sturgeon Bay from Chicago in 2017.
