Motorists Will See More Police Thursday

All available Wisconsin State Patrol officers in the Northeast Region will be out in force  Thursday, May 18 patrolling the interstates and other highways to kick-off a summer of safety for all motorists.

The State Patrol Northeast Region’s Blue Day will encompass Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Oconto, Outagamie, Sheboygan and Winnebago counties.

“During our Blue Day enforcement on Thursday, numerous State Patrol officers in the Northeast Region will be stringently enforcing traffic safety laws with a focus on speeding, safety belt violations, distracted driving, impaired driving, and Move Over Law violations,” says Capt. Ryan Chaffee, Northeast  Region commander. “The summer months typically are the most deadly season on Wisconsin roads. We are working hard to prevent serious injury and fatal crashes by motivating motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive sober. Our goal is zero deaths on Wisconsin roads this summer and throughout the year.”
