Movie Highlights Importance of Literacy

Crossroads at Big Creek will host a free screening of The Right to Read on April 24, 6 pm, at its facility at 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay. 

The film shares the stories of an activist, two American families and a teacher who are fighting to provide the youngest generation with the most foundational indicator of lifelong success: the ability to read. When children can’t read, their chances of incarceration, homelessness and unemployment increase.
