A free screening of The Listening Project will play at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (UUF) in Ephraim on May 15 at 4:30 pm. The film was named Best Documentary at the Santa Cruz Film Festival in 2008, and attempts to uncover answers to the question, “What does the world think of the United States of America?”
Filmmakers Dominic Howes and Joel Weber traveled to 14 countries around the globe, listening to people. Individuals from all walks of life and a myriad of cultures freely expressed their stark opinions of this nation. One man reports “there are many good aspects of the U.S., but it is like complimenting the delicious food served in the restaurant of a sinking ship.”
The film is part of the monthly Movies That Matter series that examines a wide range of issues. The UUF is located on Highway 42 in Ephraim. For more information visit http://www.uufdc.org or call 920.854.7559.
