A free screening of 50/50, a 2011 comedy inspired by a true story, will be shown at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim on Sept. 18 at 4:30 pm.
Diagnosed with spinal cancer, 27-year-old Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) navigates the road to recovery with the sometimes overbearing support of his crude best friend (Seth Rogen), his smothering mother (Anjelica Huston) and an inexperienced therapist (Anna Kendrick).
50/50 is described as “an honest, yet hysterically funny, account of a young man’s journey toward healing.”
The film is part of the monthly Movies That Matter series examining a wide range of issues. Each screening is followed by a discussion.
The UU Fellowship is located at 10341 Highway 42 in Ephraim. For more information visit http://www.uufdc.org or call 920.854.7559.
