Movin’ and Munchin’ at Gibraltar Elementary School

Gibraltar Elementary Physical Education students participated in the Movin’ and Munchin’ Schools Program. Movin’ and Munchin’ is aimed to promote healthy eating and exercise habits in students. “Miles” were earned for various physical activities and nutrition choices.

Chris Zvara, elementary physical educator, states, “Our goal for the four weeks of this program is to earn enough miles to travel around the United States, a total of 9,575 miles.”

The elementary students were divided into three teams. At the final week, the 1st and 4th grade team (13,642 miles) and the 2nd and 3rd grade team (14,476 miles) successfully completed the challenge. The Kindergarten and 5th grade team came very close to finishing with 9,230 miles.
