Moving the Horseshoe Bay Farms Cottages [Photos]

The next step in the preservation of Horseshoe Bay Farms took place Wednesday, Oct. 3, when two historic cottages were moved from the water side of the road to the farm property.

The workers cottages were once home to the farm manager and assistant farm manager’s families. The Nicholas family purchased the farm from Glenn Timmerman, and wanted to move the cottages to preserve them as part of the farm’s story. The cottages will be temporarily owned by the Egg Harbor Historical Society until the new Horseshoe Bay Farms nonprofit receives IRS approval.

For more on the move, listen to the Door County Pulse Podcast, where Myles Dannhausen Jr. and Andrew Kleidon discuss the future of the barns. Listen here>>
