MPTV Program Focuses on Northern Door

Around the Corner with John McGivern, a Milwaukee Public Television production, featured northern Door County in an episode that aired April 11 on local public television stations.

In this episode, McGivern makes stops at Sister Bay, Ellison Bay and the Washington Island Ferry. The episode highlights colorful foliage, as well as colorful residents. The show also takes viewers to a traditional Door County fish boil, and to the roof of Al Johnson’s with the goats.

Around the Corner with John McGivern explores a new community each week. Season two features communities from across Wisconsin, not just the southeastern region as in the first season. McGivern goes behind the scenes to talk with employers, residents and other people familiar with the locale to discover how they live, work and play. The 30-minute episodes also feature background information on each locale from local history expert John Gurda.
