Much More Than Quilts at Amish Quilt and Holiday Craft Show

The big fall event for Jacksonport Craft Cottage Gifts is the upcoming Amish Quilt and Holiday Craft Show, held at Mr. G’s Hall on Highway 57 just south of Jacksonport from 9 am to 5 pm, Oct. 9 – 11.

Featured at this show will be more than 90 Amish-made quilts in a variety of popular styles, patterns and colors. All quilts are for sale. All quilting is done by hand as is the Amish custom. Full sized quilts and baby quilts as well as queen and king-sized quilts will be available. The quilts are displayed on either a full/queen or king-sized display bed and will be turned on a regular basis by show employees. An explanation of each quilt is given as each is presented. Chairs are set up in the quilt gallery area for those wanting to see the quilt turnings.

This show is much more than a quilt show. The show features area artists demonstrating their work including Jo Brinkley-Chaudoir (jewelry); Audrey Off (mixed-media); June Grutza (glass painting); and Rebecca Kamenick (copper tree sculptures).

The show also includes many other handcrafted gift items for upcoming holidays: pillow covers, table runners, placemats, pot holders, quillows, Amish dolls, children’s toys, jigsaw puzzles and Cashew Crunch.

An entry fee of $1 will be charged at the door. Children age 8 and under are admitted free but must be attended by an adult at all times. For more information, call 920.823.2288, email [email protected] or visit JacksonportCraftCottage.com.
