The first was a petition for variance to reconstruct the overhang canopy at the front of the restaurant. Geitner said the plan is to have the canopy extend two feet beyond the present canopy. He promised “a vast improvement to how it looks.” The second request was for a conditional use permit for Geitner’s son, Robert, to conduct a kayak/paddleboard business at the Mr. G’s property. A neighbor of the Geitner’s, Bill Hebel, expressed his support for the plan. “I’ve been hoping somebody would do it,” Hebel said. “Logan Creek is one of the best kept secrets in Jacksonport Township and other people should be able to enjoy it.” With Jacksonport’s approval, the requests now go to the county for consideration.
