Municipal News: April 1 – 8

City of Sturgeon Bay: The City of Sturgeon Bay Street Department does a one-time citywide collection of brush that will begin Monday, April 25. Brush must be placed at the curb by 7 am. Once the crews pass by your residence that will be your only collection. Brush must be cut into 6’ lengths or less and placed parallel to the curb. Please do not block sidewalk access when placing your brush out for collection. The city does not collect leave and grass clippings in the spring. These items can be brought to the compost site on Division Road. The site is open daily and there is no charge to city residents.

The common council meets at 7 pm on April 5. The Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Board meets at 4 pm on April 7.

County of Door: The Veterans Service Commission meets at 11 am, followed by a Veterans Service Council meeting at 1 pm, both on April 5. The Resource Planning Committee meets at 2 pm on April 7.

Town of Brussels: Town officials will conduct the annual road inspection at 8 am on April 6.

Town of Gibraltar: The town board meets at 7 pm on April 6.

Town of Jacksonport: The town is seeking letters in support of the Lakeside Park development project to submit with an application to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for a grant from the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship program. You can find a sample letter on the town website, jacksonport.org. The town is also looking for donations of any amount for the project as well as in-kind donations later for landscaping work. If you wish to donate time or money, contact the Parks Committee at [email protected]. The Parks Committee meets at 7 pm on April 4.

Town of Liberty Grove: The town board meets at 7 pm on April 4.

Town of Sturgeon Bay: The town board meets at 7 pm on April 4.

Village of Egg Harbor: The Harbor Committee will meet at 10 am on April 6.

Village of Sister Bay: The Fire Board meets at 8 am on April 4. The Utilities Committee meets at 7:30 am on April 5. The Parks Committee meets at 2 pm on April 6.
