Municipal News: City Seeks Grain Elevator Site Proposals

City of Sturgeon Bay:  The city has issued a request for proposals to purchase and develop the approximately ¼-acre grain elevator site on the west side waterfront. The request states, “The Waterfront Redevelopment Authority will consider proposals to adaptively reuse the grain elevator or proposals to replace it with an entirely new development.” Proposals are to be submitted to City Clerk Stephanie Reinhardt by 2 pm June 5, 2015. The city has posted preliminary plans for Egg Harbor Road drawn up by Baudhuin Inc. You can view the plans on the city’s website.

County of Door:  The Legislative Committee meets at 2 pm on March 31. The Airport & Parks Committee meets at 9 am on April 1 at Cherryland Airport. The Resource Planning Committee meets at 2 pm on April 2. The Legislative Committee meets with Rep. Joel Kitchens at 6 pm on April 2.

Town of Jacksonport: The Planning Commission meets at 8:30 am on April 1.

Village of Egg Harbor:  The village was named a 2014 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. Egg Harbor achieved Tree City USA status by meeting the program’s four requirements – a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation. The Parks and Public Works Committee meets at 8:30 am on April 1.

Village of Sister Bay:  The village board meets at 6:30 pm on March 31. The Parks Committee meets at 2:15 pm on April 1. The Marketing Committee meets at 8:30 am on April 3.
