Mural Sculptor Demonstrates at Door County Interiors & Design

Randy Detjen is proving that sculptures are not just items that sit on tables or shelves anymore. The artist creates wall sculptures, or sculpted murals, that add relief, depth and texture to an otherwise plain wall. People will have opportunity to see the artist at work, as well as the finished product, at Door County Interiors & Design from 10 am – 5 pm on Saturday, June 13.

Detjen, owner of What a Relief in Two Rivers, will demonstrate his craftsmanship and have an exhibit of his murals. He has created murals, from plaster, that depict tall trees, wildlife as well as classical themes.

“All my work is custom, one-of-a-kind and all done by hand. And this is a subtle way of decorating,” Detjen said.

Detjen may sculpt a Door County scene such as Cave Point or a lighthouse during his appearance June 13, and his art is available at Door County Interiors & Design throughout the season. Detjen will bring a greater selection of framed sculptures to the store as part of his appearance.

Door County Interiors & Design is a home furnishings store and interior design resource located at 7266 Hwy. 42, about two miles south of downtown Egg Harbor. More information is available at http://www.doorcountyinteriors.com and details about Detjen’s art are online at http://www.whatarelief.biz.
