Naomi Rowley Presents “Pipe Organ Pops” Concert

On Oct. 12 at 7 pm, at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay, Naomi Rowley will present “Pipe Organ Pops,” a program featuring music to inspire and amuse an audience of all ages.

Drawing from a vast repertoire of music for organ and beloved melodies often transcribed for the instrument, Rowley has chosen Alfred Fedak’s sprightly “A Rejoicing” to begin the evening’s fare. Other selections include: J.S. Bach’s familiar “Air on the G String,” a buoyant concerto by Italian contemporary Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel’s ceremonial entrance music for the Queen of Sheba, “The Church in the Wildwood” by American composer Dan Miller, arrangements of French Canadian composer Denis Bédard’s recently written variations on “Amazing Grace,” and the works of Gabriel Fauré, César Frank, and Camille Saint-Saëns.

Rowley is Principal Organist at Shepherd of the Bay, located at 11836 Highway 42 in Ellison Bay. There is no admission fee; a free-will offering will be collected to benefit musical events at the church. This concert is the last in this year’s series of programs that feature the church’s Dobson pipe organ. For more information, call 920.854.2988.
