Nasewaupee Clerk Resigns

One month into switching from an elected to an appointed clerk, the Town of Nasewaupee is looking to fill a vacancy after Donna Wolak resigned from the position.

“It was way more than what she planned on doing,” Nasewaupee chair Steve Sullivan said of Wolak’s decision to resign from the part-time clerk’s position.

In the interim to fill the vacancy, Nasewaupee will have former town clerk and current supervisor Jill Lau act as the secretary to take meeting minutes.

To allow a current town supervisor to be compensated to handle the clerk’s duties, a special town meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, Sullivan said, for town voters to establish an hourly wage for town employees.
