National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help Begins Hosting ‘Championing the Word Wednesdays’

To mark the 10th anniversary of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help’s designation as a world Marian apparition site, the shrine began hosting Championing the Word Wednesdays on Jan. 22.

The Fathers of Mercy offer mass at 6 pm, followed by a discussion. The remaining session topics and dates are “As a Catholic, how do I determine what is morally good?” on Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, 12 and 19; and “As a Catholic, how should I read and interpret the Bible?” on March 4, 11, 18 and 25 and April 1, 15, 22 and 29.

“The sessions are open to all who seek to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and those who wish to have a firm foundation for the earnest practice of it,” said Father Thomas Reagan, chaplain at the shrine.

All sessions are free, open to the public and will take place in Mother of Mercy Hall. A free-will offering will be accepted for the light refreshments served after mass. Visit ShrineOfOurLadyOfGoodHelp.com to learn more.
