National Voter Registration Day Is Sept. 28

Door County – Voting is a shared American freedom, but to participate in our democracy in this way, voters must be registered. To assist with that, the League of Women Voters of Door County (LWVDC) – a proud partner and supporter of National Voter Registration Day on Sept. 28 – will hold events to assist with voter registration in the county throughout the year, said LWVDC Chair Pat Scieszinski.

Since last year, some people have moved, married, changed their name, turned 18 or been purged from voter rolls for various reasons. Voter turnout last year was the best in decades, but there are still gaps between those who are eligible to vote, those who are registered and those who actually voted.

Visit myvote.wi.gov to register or verify that your registration is current. It’s simple, free and secure. Then ask three friends to check their voter registration as well. Learn more at leagueofwomenvotersdoorcounty.org.
