Nature Conservancy Hosts Tree Plantings

The Nature Conservancy will host spring tree plantings at its North Bay Preserve on April 29, 10 am – 2 pm, and April 30, 9 am – 12 pm. In observance of Earth Day and Arbor Day, join staff and volunteers to plant 600 tree seedlings.

Volunteers may drop in anytime to help plant trees for as little or as long as they wish. The Nature Conservancy will have snacks and water available, but if planning to stay throughout the day on April 29, take a bag lunch. Restroom facilities will not be available at this planting site – a five-acre field directly south of fire number 2273 Cty Q. Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged. Temporary signs will be posted to direct volunteers.

Take a round-point shovel, five-gallon bucket and work gloves if you have them; instruction and extra supplies will be provided.

In the case of inclement weather, look for updates at doorstewardshipalliance.weebly.com to see whether the planting will take place. A note will be posted by 6 pm the night before if the planting is canceled.
