Nature Discovery Night Every Thursday

The Ridges Sanctuary presents “Nature Discovery Night” every Thursday through August 12 at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. The free programs will run from 7 – 8:30 pm; donations are welcome.

Nature Discovery Night is a great opportunity for families to investigate and learn about nature. Some activities planned include pond critter identification, giant bubble blowing, fish printing, wildlife track stories, and simple nature crafts and snacks.

Upcoming programs include: “Dragonflies of Door County” on July 8, “Rare Plants of the Niagara Escarpment” on July 15, “Newport Wilderness Society Celebrates 25 Years,” on July 22, and “Butterflies and Moths of The Ridges and Door County” on July 29.

The Ridges is also hosting an “Owl Hooting and Night Hike” program on Friday, July 2 and Monday, July 5 from 8 –10 pm. The public is welcome to attend, take a night hike and call for owls in the forest of the Ridges. Participants will learn about owls’ nighttime adaptations with activities along the hike. The event is free, but donations are appreciated.
