NDEAM Recognized at County Board Meeting

Held each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is a national campaign that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.

The 2014 theme is “Expect. Employ. Empower.” Wisconsin’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and community partner agencies will host a number of events (at least one in each work force development area) throughout October. On Oct. 29 the Door County Board of Supervisors will sign a proclamation giving recognition to Disability Employment Awareness Month and recognize the work of a Door County business and the individual hired. To learn about how to recruit and hire individuals with disabilities in Door County, call Jess Siler, Business Service Consultant, DVR, at 920.288.7634.
