Neighbor to Neighbor Kicks Off “Still Alice” Project

Neighbor to Neighbor is kicking off a new project: the Still Alice Project. Through a grant from the Bay View Lutheran Church Ruth Endowment Fund, Neighbor to Neighbor received funding to purchase multiple copies of the book Still Alice, written by Lisa Genova. In this New York Times bestseller, an accomplished woman slowly loses her thoughts and memories to Alzheimer’s disease, only to discover that each new day brings a new way of living and loving. The books will be used to hold book discussion groups throughout Door County.

“The goal of this project is to get a dialogue going in the community about Alzheimer’s disease, making it a topic people feel free to talk about,” states Ann Bennett, executive director at Neighbor to Neighbor.

Local community groups and churches interested in hosting a book discussion group led by Neighbor to Neighbor are asked to contact Bennett at 920.743.7800.

Also, Neighbor to Neighbor is holding a That’s My Pan! fundraiser to benefit programming. That’s My Pan! has personalized gifts, including cake pans, glass storage containers and baking dishes, Rada cutlery, cutting boards, mugs, and Klean Kanteen products.
