Neighbor to Neighbor Presents Awards at Annual Dinner

Neighbor to Neighbor celebrated their organization’s achievements at their annual meeting at the Sturgeon Bay Public Library on Nov. 27. In 2017, 1,413 individuals benefited from services provided by Neighbor to Neighbor. Door County residents saved more than $400,000 in medical expenses by using the organization’s services. Ninety-four volunteers donated 2,873 hours of their time to help with various services.
Two awards were presented at the meeting. The Versatile Volunteer Award was presented to Dorothy Regner for her service to four peer companion clients in 2017, and seven peer companion clients in 2018. She also volunteered for Rib Fest and grocery bagging. The Lifetime of Service Award was awarded to Colleen Crocker-MacMillin for her many years of volunteer service in the medical equipment loan program and Door County Medical Center’s Emergency Department equipment closet, as a peer companion, fundraising, working special events, and serving on the Board of Directors, including multiple terms as president of the board.
